With its exotic, multi-hued beauty, Goa provides a
picture-perfect atmosphere. It has a vibrant culture, and filming is easy, with
low production costs, simple modes of communication, and no language barriers. There
is a wide variety of locations and seasons to choose from, each with its own
moods and offering breath taking natural visual masterpieces. Beaches, rivers,
temples, churches, forts, and heritage sites, as well as a blend of modern and
old European architecture, add to the beauty of shooting movies in Goa. Adventure
activities, bird and animal habitats, and parks are all conveniently located. Because
of its small size, Goa allows you to shoot in a variety of locations while
staying within tight time constraints.
The idyllic city of Panaji, Goa's capital, is flanked on one
side by the River Mandovi, which is lined with mangroves along its wetlands,
and in the middle by lush green hills, a city beach overlooking the Arabian Sea
fringed with coconut palm trees, parks, and heritage squares. The city is well
known by its creative sites for film shooting. But due to the sudden pandemic
knocking our doors rigorously has breached the flow of shooting.
Due to a surge in COVID-19 incidents, the Corporation of
City of Panaji (CCP) agreed on Wednesday to halt all filming in the capital for
a month. Vasant Agshikar, Deputy Mayor of the Corporation of City of Panaji,
said the decision to halt filming was made due to an increase in COVID-19 cases
in the state. Residents had demanded that the on-going filming be halted or
postponed to avoid the spread of coronavirus, he added. After evaluating the
COVID-19 situation, he said the decision to resume filming would be made.
After finding it difficult to shoot in Mumbai due to an
increase in COVID-19 incidents, many film producers approached the
Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) through their line producers for film shoots
in the touristic state.
